Final Thoughts on American Idol.

I haven't been a constant watcher. Not like Sopranos or watching my favorite sports team in the playoffs, but still a fan.

This has been my favorite season of American Idol. When I first saw Taylor Hicks, I thought he had a hook that would take him a long way. But surprised to see him stay in the running to go as far as he did, to ultimately win it all.

Some say they hope Hollywood or stardom don't ruin his charm. I don't know - I think some fine tuning could go a long way for Hicks. Perhaps learn a few cool moves, shed a few pounds, get that hair styled a bit.

Just a bit.

The essence of improving yourself is to bring those great qualities out - not to remove them altogether. His premature gray hair is cool, his singing, his 'soul patrol,' well they are memorable.

His singing just got better each week - my favorite was his cover of Elton John's 'Levon.' One said it was pitchy - I thought it was incredible.

So let's hope he is able to continue on a successful path - bringing out his best qualities. I believe he could go on to be one of the most successful acts AI has produced yet.
